Wait, why?

I thought Singapore was in the earlier wave of this pandemic, and so has long passed the peak?

Singapore is entering a stricter phase of social distancing measures as local transmission spike up again due to unlinked cases.

We are definitely not out of the woods yet.

Copy that.

And *this* is what I keep saying to folks who think it'll be over. Nothing has changed. No vaccine. No preventative medication.

Until something changes, it's going to continue to spike.

:(

Absolutely. That "change" is the vaccine.

Vaccine will only arrive in the later half of next year...

In the meantime, social distancing is the solution.

About 5 years ago - my wife lost her job for about 6 months - so it forced us to become more budget minded - when she got a new job - we had become accustomed to living without her income - so for the most part we just started saving her income - so we saved a bunch out of fear - and it has helped a lot - we basically save 1/2 of her salary as cash and the other half into investments - and live off of mine. Not everyone can do it - but it worked for us.

SG Govt preached social distancing at the start. But not many seem to care. They then started calling citizens back from overseas, and because of this, almost half of the daily reported cases are imported. SG went from 100+ cases to 1000+ cases within a month. Good thing is that all returning parties are now immediately quarantined in hotels for 14 days. Also new clusters are being found out. Hopefully it won't reach the point of community spread. So to flatten the curve, the govt has now called for all non-essential jobs/work to be done from home starting 7th Apr. All retail shops are to remain shut for 1 month. No one is allowed to eat out anymore.

So, thinking that demand for watches have fallen, I decided to test my theory today, and went to ask Rolex AD, if I could purchase a pepsi. Guess what did they say? haha

Availability will get much better. The question is whether they are a good relative buy when stocks and real estate are also on sale.
