Louis Vuitton pocket organizer
For those of you that own or owned Louis Vuitton wallets, do you prefer Canvas or Leather? I’m possibly looking into LV pocket organizer but don’t know which one to go with. Price difference is very small. I take care of my stuff, but do want something to last since it would be my on and only. For those of you that own or owned both or either canvas or Epi, please let me know which one you prefer and why.
Thanks! |

I own a damier graphite card holder, and pocket organizer which is canvas and both have held up really well after 6 years. I take care of my things and don't abuse them so that helps in it not ripping or looking old. Don't over stuff the vertical card slots (max two cards) and it should be fine, anymore you will rip the canvas.
I have asked LV if the glazing comes off or the thread rips, will they fix it and they told me they will repair it and/or reglaze. Hope this helps! |

My Damier canvas held up pretty well for everyday use and it’s been over a year

Funny, I am about to get one myself and asked the boutique sales guy the exact same question yesterday. He said the canvas is durable, but more prone to cracking at the edges. It can be reglazed but never looks as new. It is also more prone to damage if you tend to overstuff.
He also said epi is the most durable leather and best choice if you go full Costanza with your wallet, followed by taiga (which I will be getting).

Epi is REALLY durable. I’ve seen vintage, un-refinished Epi bags that were used harder than the typical TRF’er uses his Rolex, and they were completely fine. Or wait, that doesn’t really prove my point further...

I prefer the Taiga. I’m on my 3rd LV wallet and went standard monogram, Taiga, Taiga.

I have had several pocket organizers from LV. Either way very durable. Epi prob least likely to show wear. Most feel like pleather but it is what it is.
I’d go Epi. Lately I’m rocking a pga tour moneyclip lol I have about 2k worth of wallets parked in the drawer for this 25 dollar US open moneyclip. Feels right.

I got mine as a bday gift last month. I was debating between monogram eclipse vs epi. Do some search on people’s pocket organizers after a few years of use, I think then the decision will be quite clear to make. I’ve seen on the Purseforum of someone’s husband’s epi pocket organizer looks as if it’s 1 year old although it’s been used for a whopping eight years.
Very happy with mine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not sure this forum or another.... had a thread like this recently and LV Leather holds up better than canvass. Am a longtime LV collector and yes the leather is more durable overall. The canvass is extremely good, yet eventually the corner-edge melted plastic that keeps the layers together starts to separate. Easy fix at minimal cost for service at any LV store, yet it does happen with canvass after much use.

I have the Taiga Ocean Blue. I had a loose stitch in mine after 4 months of use. Took it back, and they sent it in for repairs free of charge. It's been holding up well since.

I really like the size of it. I wear my wallet in my front pocket, and most times it doesn't even feel it's there.

I would go epi leather if you are going to put it in your pocket with any regularity.
The canvas will last but the creases will wear sooner. Sent by Diffusion using Tapatalk |

Those deeper blues from LV are super nice! I’m a sucker for blue leather everything, these are tempting.

Thanks. I was eyeing this LV with EPI and large embossed symbol in black. How long have you had it?

I used to use the brown Damier pattern pocket organizer as well. The canvas held up nicely. I think the biggest thing is to just not overstuff them.

I've only had it a few months and carry my wallet in my front pockets.
I love this wallet and sort of baby it so if I have slim fitting jeans or traveling for prolonged periods I use my old Coach card holder. The black is been out of stock everywhere for about the last four months. I snagged this up in Bracelona. It was the last one. Good hunting. Sent by Diffusion using Tapatalk |

I wish my LV would wear out so I could justify getting a new one!
