Need urgent help on 1977 Sub!!

Hi Guys and girls...if there are any..

I need help.. im just about to do a deal on a 1977 submariner and wonderd can any experts help me by looking at the pictures etc.. ?

Its on ebay Uk .. the dealer seems like a nice guy but i have never purchased a vintage rolex before and its a lot of money for me..

it has a refinished Dial , and no original papers...

Any thoughts as im doing the deal in a few hours....

Well i'll take a stab at this, as I own a 1977 orig. Maxi 1 dial sub.
First off you need the proper serial # to date the watch.
What seller has listed on ebay is just the model # (shown twice).

Also tho the dial is post 1977, the bracelet is an incorrect earlier 1960's model.

You can get lucky sometimes (privately, or estate sales on ebay), but if you haven't owned vintage Sub(s) & haven't done alot of homework, it's much better, and less stressful to Get one thru this forum, or the like....

If its alot of money for you and you have never purchased a vintage Rolex before I say dont. Wait until you have studied them and know what you want.Look for the best example you can afford.Have a budget.Take your time.DO NOT BE IN A RUSH.Chances are theres more watches for sale than you have money.So relax and spend some time researching what it is that you like and can afford.Than when your ready you can go on the hunt.
