vintage fakes?
How long have Rolex fakes been around? I like the idea of hunting for a vintage one - 1940s or so. But is it safe to assume it is likely authentic just because it's old? How do you spot a fake Rolex from this era?

I think I have a vintage fake...and have been searching online and found no info on how to identify it, so hopefully someone has some answers/info... im interested as well

The old Rolex models are heavily faked, too, Lisa. I have seen some very good copies of "Bubble Backs", but also a "Prince" copy in London.
If you move further up to the 1960ies and 1970ies you see especially many models copied. Have a look at www.doubleredseadweller.com and the articles on www.bjsonline.com
