I could t agree more
I have bought so many £3-8k watches now and ended up with too many the same, no real show stopper! I am now going through that process, selling the watches that don't make me really happy!
Keeping the Sub C Date as it has always been a grail, I've put a deposit down for a new PP Nautilus 5712 which I am in love with.
Would you keep my SS Pepsi as a third option or sell? I just want to make sure I wear the other two enough to warrant having them.

Thanks brother, the thread is supposedly oriented to people that’s its starting collecting or they have doing in for sometime and get stock in the hoarding that at the of the day 3-4 outstanding pieces is way better tan have too many that detracts you from wearing what you need and like.
1) Dressy complicated
2) Power Watch
3) Rolex Sport watch
4) humble watch

I think Mike needs a Rollie no mater what , I would say if anything update the 5711 for a complicated watch; but I am afraid that Mike will stay with this trio for awhile

Cheers

Totally get it been there , if it doesn’t feel right yet don’t do it. I don’t pretend that this work for everyone. It’s just a concept that makes sense to me.
Enjoy your watches
Cheers 🥂

You wont enjoy the Pepsi once you wear the 5712 a few times. You will still like the Sub C since it can be an anything watch which is what the Pepsi will sit back seat to in the end.

I kind of agree, the sleek and refined feel and finish of the 5712, front and delicious back, will make the Rolexes seem more cumbersome than before, and having one SS as a daily/beater is probably enough, more likely you will want to free up funds to buy another PP or AP or Lange.

The Patek bug is a nasty one. My SubC now gets zero love - I now wear the 5167 in situations where I would have worn it before (save for diving which I don't do everyday.)

On a couple of lists for a 5712, and hope I'll get a call one day. I don't care if I have to wait a few years - as they say, good things are worth waiting for.

Same thing happened to me. Ended up selling the SubC because there was no desire to wear it

Lol. I’d love to own a 5170G. But I’m sticking with my trio for now. There’s nothing I really want at the moment. I think I beat the watch game? I hope I don’t get any itches soon.
