Incoming and Comparison

Picked this beauty up a few days ago.

The still on steel is a watch I gave to my GM when I “made” him.

Figured I would show the crew here a comparison. I love the new one. Love the strap. It’s definitely bigger. Not sure how I feel about that. But I still have the blue flat dial on steel so I’m glad to have them both, as they will switch up nice.

Overall, especially for the price point, it’s a magnificent watch. Exceptional for daily wear.

Happy to answer any questions if you’ve got them.

Wrist shots. It wears very well. Extremely comfortable. I wore it to the gym today and it was perfect. Complete confidence in every way. Can’t even feel it doing push ups and such.

Very nice Seth. I think Omega’s rubber straps are very comfortable. I have a PO 8900 that i ordered the Omega rubber strap for and find it’s more comfortable than the steel bracelet.

Agree. I’m biased because I love rubber straps.

But yeah, Omega does rubber very well

Looks great. I’m looking forward to seeing one in person. How do you find the waves? In some photos they seem quite prominent, and in others less so.

The rubber strap I ordered was $400 but that included the deployment buckle as well.

Thanks for the pictures. The new version is definitely thicker but I don't think it's too thick. I'll have to try it on the wrist before I spring for one.

That new Omega is sweet. Looks tons nicer in these real-life photos than it does in the catalog photos. Thanks for sharing.

How do you compare this new Omega SMP 300 to Rolex regarding quality and performance?
How does the thickness compare to a Rolex?

I agree completely. They do rubber very well.

I think they are similar in size. It is def a little bigger, but more refined. Less bulky.

I do not. Sorry.

The size is working for me just fine. Def try it first, but it is a super fitting watch. The lugs basically wrap around the wrist. They are curved perfectly.

Agree. And these pics don't do it justice either. But the catalog pics are really bad in comparison. Truly, it is a beauty of a watch.

Thanks man. Me too. I was not so sure about it at first. But the moment I saw it in person, I was sold. Love the whole theme of this watch.

IMHO, this watch compares easily with a sub. The bezel turns smooth as butter. Everything is super precise. The fit and finish is literally perfect in my opinion.

I am an unabashed Omega fan. But I would never get a sub again (unless it was blue or green) as this covers the bases easily. And does not come with some of the Rolex baggage.

I really like this watch, and looks amazing on rubber. I don't understand Omega’s obsession with making their watches bigger. I'm sure it's comfy but would have been more so in it's original size.
What size is this, I'm really liking the blue dial, always loved the unique characteristics of this watch with it's skeleton hands and manual He valve, and now the wave dial is back. A real beauty.

I think I must ultimately agree. I would likely have been happier if it was the original size. This is 42mm. Wears small for a 42, but it is still clearly bigger than the original at 41.

Can’t wait to see the new one in person. I saw the older version in person last week and was actually blown away with how much I liked it. Both the black and the blue dial.

It looks great here.

Oh just 1mm. Seems larger, I'm hoping to get a look at one of these to see how it feels. I love my Deepsea but it has definitely driving me into wanting only smaller watches. At 42mm that's my limit but I have seen in the past that Omegas watches wear smaller and this seems to be no different, plus I want it on rubber.
