Insurance companies often have a way of recouping any payouts, like banging your premium up next year.

Personally, I'd see if the watch is keeping excellent time over the next week or so, and then, if it is, try and find a first class independent that you can personally go to, show them, and see what they say about repair. If they can put the insert back in by tweeking it, I'd be "rocking" with that until the watch really needed service.

Don't sweat the small stuff.

I was considering doing this, but I filed a purchase protection claim with my credit card so depending on what RSC charges me for the repair I am hoping to recoup the cost for a full repair - they pay up to $500

Agree on the homeowners. I think I'm not going to file a claim with them. They will most likely hit me with a premium increase next year if I do.

Please stop doing that or you will regret it. Its very very painful to see your watch shattered after it hits tile. Just get a little desk clock and keep in in the bathroom. Soooooo not worth it. And if you have a watch like mine (President, Datejust, gold, diamonds and diamond face) its painfully expensive to repair. (I don't care if insurance covers or not, my bill to fix was outrageous!)

Can't believe the bezel flattened like that! If it's keeping the same time as before the drop I wouldn't service it, just get a new bezel and insert. If the function has changed then send it in.

Just a quick update. Dropped the GMT off to my local AD yesterday. They are supposed to call me with an estimate in a week or so. They said they think they will charge me for the repair but the service should hopefully be covered by warranty. We'll see....

Talked to my usual contact there about supply and she said they have not received a single Tudor GMT or BB58 since I purchased this watch in early December. All the other Tudor models were available in the case. As for Rolex, same deal. Only sport model in stock was a YM40. She did say they were selling Omegas like crazy. Guess Omega owes Rolex a thank you for all this.

Actually looks quite cool without the bezel

Be careful, you may start a new trend

Exactly what I thought. I think I prefer it without the bezel. Though the GMT function is rendered useless without it.

Ouch sorry to hear that .. it definitely could’ve been a lot worse for sure. But from the pics doesn’t look bad at all. As long as the movement is ok this should be relatively cheap to fix.

When cleaning my sub a few months after getting it, I was drying over the countertop and fell a few feet out of my hands onto it. Luckily not even a scratch, but I know how bad that moment feels.

It's one of those life just stops for a second moments LOL. Like in the movies where everything goes into slow motion and the main character tells Nooooooooo!

If it was me, I'd send it in for inspection and repair. If covered by insurance awesome. If not covered, an expensive mistake and lesson learned. Good luck whichever way you go.

Latest update. Received an estimate a few days go. $270 to replace bezel and insert. It appears they are not charging me for a service, or not performing one. I'm not sure. I did ask and they said they check the movement on any watch submitted for repair, so I guess they are not charging extra for that. I'll update further when I get the watch back but if the estimate holds I think $270 is fairly reasonable.

Glad to hear your getting this sorted. Agreed, price is not too painful.

Sounds very reasonable, glad it worked out.

I think you lucked out to have had the bezel take the blunt of the blow vs the case.

That's a very reasonable price. I'd be happy with that.

That's the kind of repair story that might move a few more people towards Tudor.

Well just when I was going to start singing RSC's praise, got a voicemail from the AD saying they were contacted by Tudor. According to them there is a particular part they need for the bezel that is on back-order in Geneva. Six to Eight MORE weeks to get this back to me. This is on top of the FOUR weeks it has already been since I gave them the ok to proceed. Bummed to head into spring and summer without my GMT. Hard to believe they don't have parts for the bezel on a watch that has been out for over a year. Not sure what the problem is.

You wanted a BB GMT. The only answer is to bite the bullet and send it back for a Repair and then enjoy your watch. On the bright side of things turn the damaged Bezel into a Key ring on a chain.

What a pain! I hope you have another watch to hold you up. If not, I would take this opportunity to pick up a new one
