1st SKX

I was checking out the Seiko at local Asian mall and found this strange looking SKX with stick hour markers and since I never had a SKX before so I bought it after lots of negotiation. The watch is simply beautiful in real life for almost nothing. I think I will get a Strapcode president bracelet and 300m Mariner Master clasp for it and maybe will swap in a Seiko movement for hacking and winding.

That’s a good find. The SKX 173 is impossible to find new these days.

It seems it was never really a big seller like the 007/009.

Congrats on it. I would put a Uncle Seiko bracelet on it before Strap Code.

If you change out the movement you need a new crown/stem. I suggest using a Seiko version like the SARB. It is better than most of the aftermarket ones I have used. But they are getting hard to find. Duarte has a few available https://www.thewatchsite.com/8-seiko...ovts-38-a.html

Thanks guys! The watch looks much better in real life and reminds me of the 4-digit Rolex Submariner of the past.

Get rid of that strap, it is one of the hardest straps made. Get a GL strap from Uncle Seiko and it will be perfect.
