President on CL

https://providence.craigslist.org/jw...781494708.html

The photos aren't great, so I realize it won't be easy to formulate an opinion.

My concerns are that there is an ugly old sticker on the back, and that the six digit model number on the sticker does not match the "L" serial number. Serial indicates it should be a late 80's model, and the six digit models weren't out until much later.

Also, the warranty document looks pretty pristine.

What do you think? Is it worth calling the guy?

Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from auction sites.

Mostly more trouble than you can imagine.

Its not an auction site. Far worse to buy anything on CL as there is no recourse. Ask for the weight if you need further confirmation thats a fake.

Thanks wasn't interested it's just that the earlier post said stay away from auction sites, I was pretty sure Craigslist wasn't an auction site.

The clasp is engraved with the word " STEELINOX", that's the only evidence you need that it is 100% fake

If your YM is made of 18K gold and it stamped Steelinox then you have a problem.

Also, CL5 is the most used serial code for fake clasps among many many other things showing its a fake.

Trash can this clunker and for crying out loud reach out to the guy and tell him before some chump buys the damn thing. The ad sounds like a typical scammer though... Playing the I do this, don't know anything but I will sell it for 6k.

Note: He's a handyman and knows nothing about watches but it's an easy fix for a jeweler. Red flag
