Need help on this Tiffany 1675
http://www.ebay.com/itm/381686926788...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this watch. Not much bidding and I feel like I'm missing something. I think the watch is a legit 1965 1675. What I've noticed is the band is from a submariner and it has a newer clasp and incorrect end links. The case and lugs have some wear but seem appropriate for its age. The dial and bezel seem correct and in good shape (possibly service or replaced but real). The Tiffany print is off center which I've seen in checking other Tiffany Rolexes from this era with proven with paperwork. Font is correct for mid 1960's. This watch has no papers which I realize is a biggie. Am I missing anything or wrong? Thank you in advance. It ends tomorrow night. Regards Chris. |

Without proper paperwork i.e. invoices showing it is indeed a correct Tiffany dial it is to be considered not so imho. If it can't be proven that it is correct than the only outcome is that it is at best a modified doctored original dial. Who wants to buy such a thing is the question with the understanding that the value of classic watches is in original untouched dials. Small market, hence the price. I would very much prefer an ordinary 1675. Just my 2c.

I totally see the importance of paperwork. Seems the majority of these don't have it and still command a premium of three to five times what this one is at, which I always thought was rediculous. I thought maybe there were other authenticity issues, other than the lack of Tiffany papers, that I was missing. I appreciate your input.
