Can Moon Watch experts help?

Hello to all experts. I'm looking for a Speedmaster and have seen this on offer for a good price but I'm not sure if it is gen? He's quoted it as 3592.50 caliber 863.
I really am no expert, it'll be my first Speed Master and first hand wound watch.

Thanks in advance for any advice, opinions.

One photo does not a watch make (apologise to Aristotle), but it look close to genuine to me. That said, the simple rule to not get burnt is to buy the seller. Does the seller have a good reputation and do you trust that reputation?

That looks like a 3592, and that looks like Caliber 836, but I agree with arcadelt that we can't really advise you further without more information or photos. There are experienced owners here, so let us know more and we will be glad to help.

Sorry for the delay. The seller seems to have a good reputation. My only doubt was one of the cogs is steel coloured and on internet photos I've seenit's gold.

It’s definitely real and, from what I can see, looks to be in good condition. As you seem to be aware, this reference has a more decorated movement, but during a past service it is possible that a part might have been replaced for one from a less decorated movement. This is common when a watchmaker cannot get the correct part. Again, buy the seller, so ask him to explain your observations. He may not know, but how he or she handles the query will speak volumes about whether it will be a good transaction.

Thank you for the opinions. I was too late though, on the look again.

Unless it was really low price, you did good to miss out. Lots of dents and dings (and dirty, which is of course easily remedied but to me odd and a bit of a red flag for a watch for sale). How much are you willing to spend?

Oh. You wouldn’t have one that you are wanting to sell?

Zoom in on the pictures instead of being such a punk.

No, I do not have one for sale.

It did, same as you. Not withstanding that the pictures do not give a clear view of the entire watch, this is a nice example of a 1990 Speedmaster, with reasonable wear and tear given its age as long as the price was appropriate.

But an impulse buy of another watch has put this search on hold.
