Hello,
I’m considering buying the proper bracelet for my 1603 from 68’ and curious if there are any recommended places for parts you guys could suggest I check? Thanks! |

There’s a 1967 7368 on Watchrecon right now, as well as some old Jubilees

I’ve asked this before but I can never remember, was the 1603 offered on oyster and jubilee?

So I’m thinking it’s the 6251H I need. Does anyone know if this year 1603 should have the large crown clasp, or other?

Your Rolex AD will sell you a brand new one if you want something that's solid and safe.

Usually, the Oyster was on the smooth-bezel version (1600), but back in the day an AD would gladly have put either an Oyster or Jubilee on a DJ. The Jubilee was far more common on a 1603, of course.

There are plenty of nice vintage bracelets available both oyster and jubilee. The 1603 came with both, it was buyers choice at purchase. Bracelets were put on at the AD.
Avoid a re-pinned bracelet at all costs. When the Rolex pins are removed it is no longer fit for purpose. You've replaced 50, 60, 70 year old parts with unknown parts, are they stainless? Are they slightly smaller to make assembly easier? When will one of those cheap pins fail? Probably a hell of a lot sooner than the original Rolex pin. LOL, I would never trust my vintage Rolex to a bracelet with a few dollars worth of cheap pins holding it together. Noobs don't seem to know or care that as a jubilee breaks in to your arm it becomes looser but once broken in it no longer stretches unless you allow it to become filled with dirt and DNA which frankly, most people did. :) Try to find an original bracelet, it may be loose and broken in but it's been like that for 50 years, keep it clean and it will continue to keep it attached to your arm; :) |
