TAG Heuer CAR2150.FC6266 - what do you think?

I found this discontinued Tag Heuer for sale at $3000. What do you guys think? Should I go for this, or spend this $3k on another dress watch. I know Tag isn't the brand of choice for many, but I think it's a sharp watch!

By saying "another dress watch", are you indicating you see this as a dress watch? As nice as that watch is, I don't think I could consider a chronograph a dress watch, not even a gold one. However, for $3000 you could buy this near new Frederique Constant slimline moonphase dress watch currently listed elsewhere, and still have change to buy a nice steel sports watch from Tag Heuer.

The watch in question is very well made. It belongs to Carrera Calibre 1887 family, but its finish is really top-notch, a few cuts above standard Tag.

The movement inside is, for me, the most interesting part of this watch.
Though at first (pompously) advertised as Tag Heuer's first complete in-house made chronograph, it was later revealed that it is actually modded Seiko caliber 6S37, a pretty high-end column wheel movement, developed along more expensive Grand Seiko movements and used in limited number of watches made strictly for Japanese domestic market. Tag Heuer bought the rights for the design from Seiko and Calibre 1887 is really completely Swiss Made, for better or worse.
All in all - if you like it, go for it. It is definitely more interesting than ordinary run-of-the-mill 7750 powered chronograph, and column wheel operates smooth and crisp, giving the whole experience much more sophisticated feel.
I really cannot comment on the price, though, I've seen them cheaper and more expensive as well.
Good luck!

Not mine and don't know the seller, but offered at $1200. Search watchrecon.
