I recently added an AP ROO Diver to collection. I bought it pre-owned, and am really loving the watch. When I was admiring the watch the other day, I noticed that the 8 screws on the caseback are slighty marred. This was probably done when someone was trying to authenticate the watch, and probably didn't have the exact screwdriver.

It is not that noticeable, and it is in the back of the watch. However after I noticed this it started bugging me. I enquired about getting the screws replaced, and I was quoted $25 a screw, and I would have to ship it out.

My wife thinks I am getting a little OCD with the watch.

What do you guys think. Would you get the screws replaced or leave it?

I'd get the replaced if I was having the movement checked for any reason. Otherwise as long as you're sure it's authentic I'd wait for a service interval.

If it was a fair price you paid for the piece and the scratches bother you that much, then send it in to Clearwater for new screws and water test. If a non professional opened the caseback, (which seems to be the case since the screws are warped as you say) I would be more concerned if the watch was still waterproof.

Definitely open it up to authenticate it as this watch is the most convincing rep there is, just google youtube "the rolex enforcer"

Correct me if I'm wrong as I've only just started looking into AP but was under the impression these screws must be torqued up correctly and most advise APSC only.

Given the screws are damaged most likely indicates someone other the AP have tried to or have removed the case back.

Would be worth sending to them to double check.
