Pam Subs.

Hello all, I have a question. I have noticed on occasion what some noted as the dreaded corrosion on their hands of the watch, on watches that are for sale.

Is this a isolated case with some models, or something that happens from time to time?. As i have an itch getting either a Pam 24 or 25. I think I'm leaning towards the 25 due to the dial, love the waffle look.

Either way, the more I look at Panerai watches the more I want one or two of them.

Many thanks in advance.

It is my understanding...that the tritium from the hands/dial actually
corode the steel hands themselves. But not all do. Some have no issues
at all.

Not sure why this is the case. Maybe depends on the tritium mixture?

Seems like the blue dialed "La Bomba" models are affected quite a bit ?

Yes, From past memory I remember some saying that their's didn't have any issues. So it's just some that had the issue and some didn't. Do you know what kind of time table the problem would show up? Or it was it something that happened suddenly after the purchase from a AD? Just wonder if the issue would show up on one that didn't have the issue.

I would assume the issue has been resolved. I don't remember what series the one's that had the problem. It could of been a earlier model.

Thanks for the info, as it's always good to learn as much as you can about a brand.

I think the corrosion on the hands on the T dials are unique and nice. You can have it replaced anytime if you want to.

Well thanks for the info, I just wondered what the issue was. I would have no issue with it till I sent it into for service and would then have the hands changed then.

So they make a Tritium and a Super-LumiNova dial and hands for the PAM 24 and 25?
