Thoughts on the PAM661

I have an opportunity to purchase a new PAM661, a watch that I think is very striking. I've never owned a Panerai before (I own Rolex and Omega watches), so I was hoping to get some more educated opinions about the watch. Thanks in advance!

I had a look at one on Sunday in the OP boutique. It didn't blow my skirt up at all and I would leave it behind in a zombie apocalypse.

One thing that did catch my attention was that if dropped, the case can crack depending on what you drop it on and from what height. Panerai charge 40% of the retail price for a new case. Something to keep in mind and traumatise yourself with in equal measure if you're a Billy Butterfingers

Very cool reference. Not sure if it would be my choice for a first PAM, but if you love it....

I actually just got to see one live, and I had to have it. I'm mainly off of panerai but this thing is just beyond cool for me. Mixes in a lot of old school vibe with really new school technology. As far as the case if you were to drop it...just get insurance for the watch and no big deal. They are also pretty hard to come by, could very well be one of the few non-limited edition pieces to actually hold value.
