Thoughts on new PAM 676?

I tried on the 676 along with the 560 and the Rad 380, and coming from a SubC as my daily wearer for the past five or six years the 44mm 560 felt pretty dang thick, the 380 felt just a little larger (not thicker though), and the 676 felt very similar to my Sub and perhaps thinner. I think I would pull the trigger for that one, but I don't like the low water resistance. I also wonder if I will regret not getting a bigger PAM because that's what people think when they think Panerai.

Any advice? What I do know is (1) I don't want TOO thick of a case, (2) I like the simple base design or perhaps the base with the small seconds, and (3) I also like the gold hand models. The 232 is tempting for a RAD, but dang if it isn't 47mm!! I almost pulled the trigger on a Speedy Pro, but I keep coming back to Panerai. I would love your input!

Try finding a 190. Buy what's comfy on your wrist.

I like the look, but the WR turns me off. My current PAM is my 512. It's the only watch I've owned twice.

I really like the looks of that one too (and the 338), but the AD doesn't have it. Have you tried the larger 210, 183, or even bigger 232?

Looks fantastic but might be more than I want to pay for my first PAM.

Due not do it....

The Bettarini case models are not as thick as the 1950 models.... look at 000, 005, 111, 112 and, if you really want gold hands, the 390.

If you like 232, consider 210. You could do aftermarket gold hands like I did before I traded up to a 232.

Here it is in OEM state.

You can also consider 610, the new 8 day movement. Can't do aftermarket gold hands on that one though.

Also consider 183.....Rads rule.

Thanks guys. For the Rads, I'm down to the 210, 512 and 233. For the Luminors, I'm down to one of the titaniums of 562 and 564 or perhaps the gold 390. I know these are completely different, but any thoughts on which to go with my SubC?

Clemson, the 232 is an awesome watch. I love mine. It is by far my favorite Rad, and you can find them at great prices right now. The 390 is another great Panerai that you can find with some good prices. Not as many of them floating around in the aftermarket that I've seen though. If you're not dead-set on gold hands, look at the 000. You can get those for GREAT prices, and they have been discontinued, as far as I know. It's a great base model!

Good luck!

Mfer, that croc strap is amazing! Where did you get it? I want something like that for my 232.

The new due series is very nice in general..They will have thinner cases and polished crown guards....I looked at the 676 last night very nice watch, I felt like I would be ok with the 42mm and I have large wrists. You could always go with 674 if you want bigger its 45mm.

I liked the 676 a lot as well. Really felt great on my wrist. I guess I'm just hesitant because of the low water resistance. I haven't ruled it out though.

That's good to hear on the 232. I just wonder if the 47mm size will be too much for me. It looks awesome though!

I love the base Luminors and small second hands. I sort of want an exhibition caseback though. I'm intrigued with the titanium versions, but I'm not 100% sold on one or the other.

What will you be doing with the watch that has you so concerned with its water resistance? I don't mean this to come off as a negative question just think you might be over thinking it. It's rated at 30 meters seems like plenty for everyday life wear/use. If you are in need of a dive watch for diving yes I agree this is not the watch for you. If your just looking for a nice watch to wear you will be fine.

Are you going to dive with the watch?

Abp - warning not cheap. I got lucky on mine. It was a return, never worn. Believe it or not someone didn't like the pattern which is amazing.

Just so you know, 232 wears VERY small for its 47mm size. 210 wears amazing. A PAM 512 (which is a rad 1940 wears larger than a 210). A 233 is not a radiomir but wears small for a 8 day 44mm luminor.

I love my 232 on my smallish wrist.

And yeah I swim with it ;-)

That's great info on how each wears. And your 232 looks amazing! If I go with a Rad, I'll likely go with the 232 or the 210. The 512 isn't completely out of the question.

For the Luminor, the newer p.5000 case like for the 510, 562 and 564 is slightly thinner than the ETA case which the 111 uses correct? I've been searching everywhere online for this answer, and I believe that's the case but wanted to confirm.

That's a good point. No, I won't be diving with this one. I guess I'm just looking to be pursued to NOT get the 676 and go with a larger 44mm Lum or perhaps a Rad like the 232 or 210. And this may sound silly, but if I buy the 676 and then decide I should have gotten the 564 or 111 perhaps, I want to know if I'll take a big hit on reselling the 676. I assume that I will given that it's new and many don't like it because of the only 30m water resistance.

See above. Nope, just desk diving although I would like to be able to swim with it in the ocean or pool without worrying about it.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback so far!
