Just tried on the AP ROO Safari
Finally found one in the flesh, though the AD said it might be the last one he gets with the cream face, new ones will have the brown dial. Looks massive to me compared to my SS DaytonaC, but I kind of like the contrast in styles and colors. Thoughts on maybe flipping the Daytona for a BLNR for everyday use and then grabbing the AP?

The ROO is not one of my favorites but is a fine watch. I would keep the Daytona unless you have an issue with it. Basel 17 is close so I would wait and see what comes out.

I really love the color scheme of the safari. I will have to get one myself in the future.
Regarding worth rearranging your collection, hard call. The Daytona is hot right now and therefore quite pleasing to own. For me the safari is above it

Keep your Daytona and let the feeling pass. I think you'd regret letting it go IMHO.

I would keep the Daytona. As good as a BLNR in the 'everyday watch' chapter.

Keep the Daytona. If it were the bracelet version, that would be different.

I would keep the Daytona. However, if the Daytona isn't som thing you're going to keep forever, there probably won't be a better time to flip it with the silly premium they're carrying at the moment.

I don't care for the AP in this instance. I'd also keep the Daytona.👍

The Safari is a cool piece but for me the love would fade pretty quickly.

Saw the first pic and was going to type "flip it". Saw the second pic and changed my mind. The Daytona is far more elegant.

Not a fan of the safari. Prefer bracelet and do not like the small rubber pushers.

I am not a fan of the AP at all and the Daytona is far from being my favourite Rolex in the line-up. I have to say possible refinement and monetary value aside, the Daytona is a far better looking watch than the AP. I just don't get the whole screw head thing on the face of the watch.
I think the advice to keep what you have and see how you feel in 3 months time is good advice. Lost count how many times I have convinced myself I need a particular watch and then a few weeks later feel glad I didn't act on it. |

My personal collecting code allows for AP as long as you have a modern Rolex in the mix as well. I had the ROO "Elephant", had to send it in to service twice in the first three months of ownership. I loved the watch, still one of the coolest most attractive watches I've ever owned, but doesn't hold a candle to the "every day" versatility and durability of a Rolex.
If you make some moves, I'd personally move the Daytona which I know I'll get flamed for saying, but once the hype dies down I think the BLNR will prove to be a much greater asset to a collection. Plus you can fetch a premium now. A BLNR as a daily and a ROO would make for a killer combo with tons of versatility and functionality. |

I have both Daytona (Rose Gold) and Safari...

I would def keep the daytona. I like the AP ROO and the safari is very unique, however i think it is also not as versatile. I personally love the ROO divers too.

I always thought the safari was ugly. Until the new safari which proved me wrong that an uglier version could be created.
I'd sell the SS daytona and get the elephant if you need a 42mm ROO. Or try the 41mm ROC instead. The new ones are great and far far superior to rolex. |

Keep the daytona and wait for the safaris to go down in price as new AP are coming out.

I know dealers who will trade the 26470st for your 116500, certainly in your favor in terms of MSRP ($25k for $12k). Just message some trusted sellers here if you are keen.
