Bama put et to em all right, and I commend them for it, but this is a PERFECT example of why we need a playoff. OK, so LSU beat Bama once, and Bama beat LSU once.... Sooooo.... who's the champion?

PLEASE.... Please, can we get a playoff?

Bama. They KILLED LSU. It was a blood bath.

No one will argue a playoff system would be best, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Bama got robbed by a bad call on the goal line first time around during the regular season so I was very excited to see a rematch. Once word sums it up - REDEMPTION!!!

LSU still has a better record than Alabama and a 1-1 record against the tide this season.

I think Les Miles was paid off not to swap out jefferson for Lee at QB tonight

What a boring title game. This was the lowest rated BCS title game ever. Time for some changes. No one cares about the BCS.

I agree, it was. The game is played too late in the year. By Jan1 the bowls should be over with.

40 something days off from the last game is just ridiculous. It doesn't make for good football. LSU couldn't get into a rhythm. I am sure a lot of it had to do with the long layoff.

I just don't understand how they can keep going this route. The BCS bowl games in general had really low TV ratings. I wish everyone would just stop watching for one year and maybe that would send a message.

If there was a playoff system it's very likely LSU and Bama would have been top seeds in the brackets, and would've swept the board, and would still have met again for the title game. Just my 2¢

Doesn't the NCAA Tourney show that teams meet twice (once in season and once in tourney) with different results?

I hate to admit this cause he's such a jerk but I'm hoping Saban gets a win tonight. As a person, he's no good, and his ambition is ugly, but he's a great coach, just like our pro coach up here! ha ha ha

Looks like I was wrong... My apologies John, your point is well taken and the ratings just weren't there, I bow in your general direction LOL

That is true, both teams may have made it. But we will never know. More than likely in a 16 team playoff one of the two would have probably made the title game but I don't think they both would have made it. That is the beauty of the playoffs.

This past weekend North Dakota State (ranked 4th going into the playoffs) won the FCS NCAA Football Championships by beating the only undefeated FCS team, Sam Houston State. Now that is the beauty of playoffs. A team ranked 4th won it all by having a great run in the playoffs. Can you imagine the excitement of a 16 team playoff?

I didn't watch one second of the game. Has a sport ever gotten more irrelevant in a shorter time?
I refuse to waste any of my time on college football until there is a proper playoff system put in place.

I'm good with that, it would take 6 weeks if you chose to give final 4 a 1 week break and the final 2 the same.

It's hard for me to believe the Bowl Committees (who actually wield the purse strings) would vote it in. 8 bowl games would be stuck with first round and would start play before Thanksgiving...good for TV but won't put butts in seats IMHO.
