I see your point, but my point is a similar diesel engine equipped mid-size SUV (like the Toureg TDI) will have significantly more range than a gas powered one.

be carefull and remember it's auto sales and we make money on the trade-in and the new sale, ect. win win for the dealership and service

I should've seen the obviousness in my statement. I have a few friends in the auto business and it's clear to me they make money any which way they can. It is a business after all.

I guess my point should have been that used cars are selling so well for them that they cannot keep enough inventory and they're seeking out cars in their service area now.

A good diesel rocks! I did drive a bmw 335d (I own a 335i) and, man, the torque on that thing is savage!

I owned a 320d a few years ago while living in Belgium and it was an immensely enjoyable car.

I drive a 335d as well. I've had mine on a dyno and they're underrated from from the factory. I've been testing a few tunes as well and you think it's savage as is ... try adding 150 more lb-ft. This car proves that you can have a quick car and good fuel economy too.

What mileage are you getting out of it? I have the 335i now, but really liked the d ... might be my next.

Around town (99% of my driving) I average ~28 MPG. On the one road trip we took it on (it only has 6,000 miles on the clock) we saw over 42 MPG. I'd imagine we'll see more when it breaks in a little more as we saw with the wife's wagon.

That's impressive. I am getting 18 avg on the i (with a lot of highway driving).
