Icon10 1920's Oyster with unique 1970's-esque case shape: Ref. 7906, "Aritake's Dream"

Flipping through Aritake's excellent book Rolex Scene: 1913-1997, reference 7907 stood out to me for its unique 1970's-esque case shape:

Is anyone familiar with this model? Mr. Aritake (RIP) said he saw the watch in his dreams a day before seeing one in a store. Google translation:

Quote:
Oyster Cushion Silver Case
■ 1925 ■ Ref 7907
When I stayed at a hotel that was remodeled from an old castle, where there is a ghost in the town of Dunton, a silver case cushion came to my dreams. The next day, when I saw this Rolex, which is exactly the same as the clock in my dream, I was so surprised that I could pull out my waist. Of course I bought it at the asking price. Slightly small oyster cushion.

Very interesting.

For the Google translation of the Japanese idiom "I was so surprised that I could pull out my waist," I guess the English version would be "My jaw nearly hit the floor" or "I couldn't believe my eyes."

I love these linguistic differences.

Maybe it was an Oyster from the 20s that was re-cased in the 70s. I’d be curious to see what if any marks are on the inside or outside of the case back.

That makes more sense. Thanks!

Interesting possibility; I doubt anyone would bother making silver cases in the 1970's though. And Rolex did make plenty of cushion case Oysters; they just usually don't look quite as "oval" as this to me.

That’s why I would be interested in seeing any markings that may be on the case. The case may be boutique made which was very common in the UK.
