Omega and Tudor swap for a Rolex Explorer?

Uff that’s a hard one. The GMT is obviously brilliant and goes well/best with an Exp I. Mad having a Tudor diver as a weekend/beater is somewhat mandatory!. Would eliminate the others. Or if really invested in them, save up and just add the Explorer. Best question, what’s next...

Explorer/DJ/Milgauss to be added to the serious collection and maybe even the new Seiko Green Sumo to the beater collection.

Tried the Milgauss Z blue today and a DJ41 with roman numerals. Didn't like the shade of blue on the Milgauss and the polished shiny case on the DJ41 was a little over the top IMHO.

Dump the Tudor and the Seiko, keep the Omega.

I would do as many others and sell the Tudor, because I think it is hard to miss a Tudor when it gave you the opportunity of a Rolex. And it's the same family, which the Omega or the Seiko is not.

The Tudor with a blue bezel is a fantastic watch. Very striking and legible. I can't give it up. It's also amazingly accurate and within COSC.

I’ve decided that I won’t be selling anything anytime soon. Will more than likely add the explorer and sell a couple of beaters to justify it to myself that I sold something.

How could I possibly sell this ?

I was going to buy this and went through my draws looking for something else and literally found this. I forgot I had it. Omega gifted it to me when the original movement stopped 10 years ago.

Update:

So the AD called and the explorer has arrived. It’s mine if I want it. Very undecided as deep down I know the Omega PO and Tudor Black Bay blue should be sold to accommodate it.

I will then potentially have a Rolex GMT Master 2 LN and Explorer with a Seiko Marinemaster for the weekend. Nice 3 watch collection.

My current 4 watch combo isn’t too shabby either. I’m seriously torn.

If you can swing it, why not pickup the watch and keep everything in the collection for a bit and sort it out. See what you wear and how much. In the end you will know. Go get your watch.

Tough choice for sure. Very tempting to buy a new piece. I say add it or keep what you have. I'm biased, not the biggest Exp fan. I've thought of but couldn't sell my BB41, same as yours.

If the explorer is available and you want it go for it. As said above best scenario is to buy the explorer first and if it is a keeper then sell the PO and the Black Bay as they are not hard to be found if you decide later want any of them back.

I have both the 116710 LN and the SBDX017, and my next purchase will probably be a Omega PO 2201.50. I'm not a fan of the Tudor BB, although the BB58 is appealing. I would sell the Tudor and add cash if you really want the Explorer, but I think you'll regret getting rid of the Omega.

Went to the AD. Tried on the Explorer and passed on it. Felt good to walk away too. Nice watch but too ‘dressy’ for my liking. No way I could now seriously consider flipping my Tudor and Omega for the Explorer. It is a nice watch though. Just not my style.

Well that's how long you have to wait to have the opportunity to buy an Explorer at MSRP. At least here in Australia.

Really only you can answer as this is a personal preference/taste question. If it were me, I would as I see any more than one diver as overlap, but that's just me. Some people only collect divers. No right or wrong. Thinking a bit more, I would probably pick up a datejust to add a dressier piece to my collection. Good luck.
