I’ve seen one or two for sale on Chrono24 that this has happened to. So it’s definitely not a one off.

I purchased a blue Pelagos last month from a reputable dealer. Before he shipped I noticed missing lume in one of the pictures he posted. I inquired and he confirmed that the lume had in fact fallen out. He refunded me and cancelled the transaction. Very professional. He updated me a couple weeks later stating Tudor replaced the bezel under warranty. Very disappointing. It is such a stunning watch and I want to buy in, but QC issue are a bit too common for my liking.

It is my understanding this how Tudor movements are serviced.

Remove movement needing service > replace with movement that's been serviced or new > install in watch > return to customer.

If you like your movement, you can keep your movement.

Understandable that some might see this as not too far from being given someone else's spruced up case dial and bracelet whilst they're at it. Now that would slash turnover.

I'd love to know what the cause might be - I'm hoping to buy one of these in a couple of weeks...I'm surprised there's enough wiggle room for a lume block to drop out!

Think this also happen to some folk in the forum. They managed to get this sorted with Tudor without incurring additional cost.

This is common practice nowadays... People expect everything to go faster. This is unfortunately part of that.

Haha nice pun. the bezel did in fact “shed light”

Anyways, sucks to see this. I like the Pelagos but don’t like the new newspaper dial with all that text

Still loving the 2-liner even with the missing lume marker. Definitely will be reporting it to RSC on my return. Although I was wondering what caused this issue given I’ve owned the watch for a long time without problems.

Funny, I was doing a complete service on a pelagos today and the 5 on the bezel just fell out of it, after only having read about this issue on here a day earlier.
Glued it back into place.

Yeah that’s what I would of done if I didn’t lose the lume capsule.
Out of interest what version of pelagos was you working on? Interested to know if this issue effects both!
Secondly when Tudor put the lume in originally do they use glue or adhesive or similar? Or does the lume bond directly with the ceramic?

I was working on a black one with ETA 2824. I think they're glued from the factory.

Yeah the common thought is this issue mainly affects the eta generation 1 model and that Tudor has resolved it with later versions.
If it is glue then this would suggest that the glue is failure point.

Yes, it most likely is.

Same happened to me. RSC NY had it replaced within 2 weeks. It was lightening fast warranty service.
