New macro lens with my two favorites

I'm just getting into macro photography. What better way than to test it out on my two favorites. Getting in real close makes you really appreciate the quality of these watches.

Nice idea. Maybe use a flash to add some more light to the close up shots.

I wouldn't use flash unless you have a ring-flash set-up as it would blow out at such close range, a piece of white card with a hole cut out for the lens to poke through might work better as a reflector to push some light back onto the watch.

The idea is to use the flash with a diffuser. Either directly on the camera's body, or remotely placed towards the side of the watch. Would depend on the flash power, type of diffuser and working distance.

By the way, here are useful articles dealing with watch photography :

If you're both into watches and photography, I heartily recommend browsing Ming Thein's blog. He's a master photographer who also has a passion for watches - and came up with his watch own collection.
