Offshore ceramic Panda vs Panerai Bronzo

A bit perplexed here. Can likely grab a Bronzo for retail but still LOVE the recently discontinued ROO Panda (among other ROOs). Ultimate goal is to have a most day wearer/vacation watch to offset a Patek 5726 I have on order. Get the sense I can haggle the AP down from low 20s to high teens that brings it roughly within Bronzo retail territory. Bonus points for AP is my oldest daughter thinks it's Baller with a capital B.

I like Panerai but AP make beautiful watches that compared to Panerai are more refined and under the radar, I recently came very close to buying a Panerai but in the end the huge size put me off. I’d be surprised if you can get 10-15% off any AP if it’s brand new as you’re suggesting but no harm in trying your luck.

I'd go with the Offshore. Panerai makes some great watches, but the bronzo never appealed to me.

Which wears better for you and which one do you like the best. Therein lies the answer.

Since you mentioned getting the bronzo new, I'm assuming it's the ceramic bezel/brown dial version. In that case, I'll vote offshore all day, especially if it's the ss novelty panda.

As someone who owns the Offshore Panda I'm likely biased but it's probably the watch that I wear the most. Absolutely love it.

Panerai isn't even in the same league. AP all the way.

These are pretty convincing arguments - but such is the case when you ask for advice and deep down already know the correct answer. What I really want is an AP. I should get the AP. I will get the AP.

This is a no-brainer. Go with the AP. The level of finish are so far away from each other. And it's true what your daughter says.

If I may I'd like to modify your sentiments a bit:
What Richmont has done to Panerai is disgusting.

I was just in a "Factory Store" - what the ignorant "sales person" in a Panerai shop referred to the location. They stood out from ALL the other experiences I had that day (including ALS, VC, AP locations) as being singularly horrible. My experience at a Tourneau that day was far superior.
On top of it all, the new Panerai look like shadows of their former selves.
No wonder my Panerai watches are now worth thousands less than when VERY carefully purchased pre-2012.
