Watches of "Narcos"
The new season is out. Seems like many narcotraficantes favor Rolex with some gold while the good guys stick to more simple offerings. Noticed a lot of two tone models in the season. I wonder how historically accurate that is... I really expected more bling.

Do you really expect Narcos to have time to learn to be WISes? Too much work, pretty sure they wore and wear Rolexes, no PP, AP....

Yes, most productions of this size have entire teams of historians and people dedicated to researching just the wardrobes. Heck they even do this for video games today. You'll notice they are wearing much smaller case sizes which would have been more accurate for that time period so I wouldn't be surprised at all if it is pretty darn close to accurate.

Yes, I noticed Gilberto's tt daytona was a zenith, which is period correct. I could see the clasp which identified it.

Yeah I was surprised about that one. I mean if you had that much $, would you not want to go "full gold?"

Looked like the straight lace Colombian general was wearing a Pepsi GMT in multiple scenes.
I couldn't be totally sure, but I also thought Miguel was wearing a solid gold datejust, diamond dial.

Haven't seen narcos yet. But on Gomorrah the tv show saw a few tt daytonas. Maybe it's a drug kingpin thing... And if you like gangster shows, Gomorrah is amazing. Mind blown. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not sure about the Narco's, but in the original series, Javier Pena was wearing an Orient. I remember reading an article in an AP magazine in the late 90's and a Columbian Lawyer was a famous collector of AP's. I always wondered if he was a Narco's lawyer? And whether he's still alive?
