Vacation in Miami

Hi ,
I intend to go to Miami around October
Could you tell me the most interesting things to do here and recommend some good restaurants ?
And also are there vintage dealers here ?

Be cautious on Restaurants near south beach as some are tourists traps
Wear sunscreen if at the beach
Watch out if your in a crowded area for pickpocket people
Do lots of research on what you want to do so you enjoy yourself better
I think everything is over priced so bring extra money

Have fun and I hope the weather is good for you

I've been to south beach only twice and I only live 40 minutes from there and it was very crowed in the evening but mesmerizingly beautiful with beautiful people.
Don't act like a tourist

You'll have fun just watch yourself like you would in any other city

Miami or Miami Beach?

Are you with friend or family?

As far as restaurants go, the better choices are in Miami Beach. Avoid anything on Ocean Drive. It's a shit show and the worst of South Beach

Here are a few suggestions:
- Joes Stone Crab only if you're there after October 15 because that's when stone crab season begins
- Prime 112 in Miami Beach is the best steak I've had and I've been to all the greats in NYC more than a few times each.

I have plenty more but most are Miami beach outposts of NYC restaurants.

Rent a pool side cabana and spend the day.

The pool bar has the best Pina Colada you'll ever get.

Not trying to argue but the caribe hilton in old san Juan has a great pina coloda. It was invented there.

Second Prime 112 as a great steak.

If you get the itch to look at new watches the Miami design district cannot be beat. There are at least 10 watch boutiques including Rolex.

Yes I've had it there and it's a clear second with the Conquistador probably on third place.

Yes Aventura is nice, I'd check out Aventura Mall, has everything you want plus more Rolex, Omega, Mayors. Plus two floor Louis Vuitton for your wife, Chanel, Sephora.

Others have mentioned beaches, maybe if your looking for something a bit more quiet could try Fort Lauderdale beach full of beautiful people but not as crazy as south beach.

Aventura is okay. You're closer to Sunny Isle than Miami Beach. I say that in a good way because Sunny Isles is a nicer beach. The actual beach on Miami Beach has a ton of seaweed and garbage that washes up on the shore.

It's not a walking city and you need to drive almost everywhere you go. It happens to be where a jackass driving a delivery truck while texting rear ended me in my M3 and totaled it.

Do South beach for a day, go to luxury Swiss(Rolex Boutique), go to the Taurus in Coconut Grove, drive down Old Cutler until its end in Goulds, go over Rickenbacker Causway to Crandon Park and Bill Baggs state park (lighthouse), go to the Rusty Pelican next to Miami marine stadium to eat, go to Shortys BBQ next to the Dadeland mall, go inside Dadeland mall, go to Bayside, do not miss Vizcaya, The Fountainblue hotel in mid Miami Beach, The Loggerhead saloon (Coconut Grove an original Big Daddy's), Marlins park, Brickell Ave,and if you get west of MIA on 36th st, Trump Doral. Let me know if I can be of assistance.oh,and drive down sw 8th st which is Little Havana.

Don't forget about Ocean Drive, it's the epicenter of South Beach entertainment. Leave the kids at home, it's definitely more for an adult lifestyle. For drinks and people watching though it's hard to beat. Be sure to check out the Versace mansion.

Right in the neighborhood there's Joe's - a iconic restaurant world known for their stone crabs (but I'm told their fried chicken is awesome)

Miami design distric is THE place to go for window shopping virtually all the high end watches. If you like vintage, stop in a see my bud Matthew Bain- he's got a studio gallery on the Beach but call first because I'm pretty sure it's by appointment only. You won't be disappointed.

Do not eat on Ocean drive as it is a tourist trap and will you out of your money dry.

If you want a nice dinner out I would suggest ZUMA, Komodo, or even Prime 112 to get a nice "Miami" experience with your meal.

If you are coming with family I suggest going to wynwood and seeing all of the cool art galleries, they also have a bunch of small restaurants as well as nicer restaurants like KYU.

South Pointe Pier will be my recommendation for when you want to hit the beach.
