Insurance in Vancouver
Hello Everyone,
I finally decided to have my timepieces insured (I know... I know), I tried Chubb but it was way too high, and for some reason they want me to do it as Valuable Articles within their renters Policy, from your experience, do you recommend any insurance company that you trust in Vancouver? Sorry in advance if this topic is unrelated to this section in the forums... Cheers, |

I'm happily with Jewelers Mutual, they do Canadian coverage as well:

Go to Co Operators. they are great. If you need a specific broker I know a very nice guy in Burnaby.

You should be able to go through your typical insurance provider as well, at least give them a call and ask. We have everything under one insurance holder and it makes it easier to manage. They did ask though for everything over $5K (USD) to be appraised.

I use Jewelers Mutual also. Lucky I've never needed to make a claim. But they are very easy to work with. Rates are good too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When I called JM last year for Canadian citizens coverage, they said they don't do that anymore. I now deal with State Farm on a separate policy.

Thank you all for your replies, it's a complicating process that I'm not familiar with!

Jewelers Mutual is crazy expensive. With a downtown Toronto address, the annual premium is about 1.6% of the insured value. In comparison, scheduling them on my home insurance has me paying about 0.5% on the insured value.
