Concept Flight Driverless Air Taxi

..... have to wait at least five years for approved transport... want to get in line?

From article in phys.org: Dubai has edged closer to its goal of launching a pioneering hover-taxi service, with the authorities announcing a successful "concept" flight was made on Monday without passengers.

No thanks!

Too many modes of failure, and having seen my friend's drone (with an obstacle avoidance system) crash into obstacles, I'd rather walk.

I think uber also going in this direction. They are playing around with two propeller systems but it'll likely end up being a quad copter for stability reasons. I also doubt though that it will be launched as an electric vehicle. I believe they are going to go with gas. It has a much higher energy density and can be refueled faster. I've heard it won't be cheap but it will be fast. I also believe fractional ownership of such craft, 30-60k per share, will be offered with online booking for a certain amount of hours per week.
