Magic Mouse Anyone?
Has anyone dabbled with the new Magic Mouse by Apple? I have been toying around with the idea of picking one up tomorrow. I have a gift card that I got as part of a rebate that I need to blow. Can't really think of anything else to blow it on. The Magic Mouse looks to be a whole new experience, leave it to Apple to come out with something like this..
Is it really magical? -Frankie |

Same here, haven't tried it yet, but I read all about it when it was out and I've been looking forward to playing with one at the Apple store (yup, I'm a Mac fan). Let us know how it goes if you can try one! Sounds interesting...

I played with it the other day at the Apple store and it is... different.
Like anything else though, I bet that once you use it for a while it would become second nature. It's just a weird feeling to do all those things without having all those moving parts under your finger, scrolling without a wheel etc.

I am so used to the new trackpad that Apple implimented on the unibody macbooks that I think the Magic Mouse would be a dream. I have not had a chance to go check one out yet though. Curious to see tha feedback on here.

Ok, well I went out and bought the Magic Mouse. Well I can say it's not magical, but it is freakin AWESOME! Coupling this mouse with my 13" unibody MacBook Pro is a powerful combination. But before I get in to the details, let me talk about the setup process so anyone else here that gets one is not mislead.
Unlike many battery powered devices out on the market, this device does actually come with batteries installed! Upon removing the Magic Mouse from its tiny clam shell packing similar to that of the iPod Touch, all you have to do is flick on the power switch and discover a new bluetooth device on your bluetooth enabled Mac. Once the Mac discovers the Magic Mouse, you will be able to perform the basic functions of a mouse - move cursor, click, drag etc. You will not be able to take advantage of the Magical features of this Magic Mouse until you install the required mouse update. To install the update, click on the Apple Logo ----> Software Update - Your Mac will check for new updates, make sure that you have the Wireless Mouse Software Update selected, then click install. You will have to perform a reboot for the software install to complete. Once installed and you have rebooted, go into system preferences and configure the mouse settings to your liking. At this point in time, you are ready to perform tasks never before possible on any mouse. The overall ergonomics of the mouse will take a little getting used to since it is so slim and sleek compared to my other mice. It does comfortably fit in my hand and has really impressed me so far during the last 30 minutes of use. If you are on the fence, I suggest you pull the trigger and get it! You will be impressed and on the road to a more unique computing experience! I have attached some pictures of the unveiling of the Magic Mouse. -Frankie |

Cool! Nice unboxing... Looks really nice, and it definitely sounds like you can do much more with it. It'll be good to hear what you think after some time using it!
Enjoy!!! |

The momentum scrolling alone is worth the price of the mouse. I am finding the finger movements are extremely natural and make web browsing so much easier and a bit faster since there is no time wasted with moving the cursor.

Your welcome!
The only problem I am having right now is getting used to my PC mouse, it seems so primitive compared to the magic mouse Makes me want to swap out all of my computer equipment with Apple products, but that's not going to happen since that will equal the sum of a few shiny new Rolex's. A slow progressive swap out will have to take place -Frankie |
