thanks Pauln. I will keep the Explorer. At the moment i'm actually flip flopping between those two models currently as my top choice. It seems the Sub ND wears a little better on my wrist size wise possibly due to the lack of solid end links.

I have to decide whether I want to go with a 'icon' themed collection or an 'Explorer' theme. Maybe one day down the line I could have all 3 but I shouldn't get too far ahead of myself at the moment.

I feel like a 114270 and either a 14060m or 16610 is the perfect 2-watch collection. If you find the date to be a handy feature, go with 16610. Otherwise, 14060m. Can’t go wrong with either. And good on you for keeping the 114270. It’s really a perfect watch.

Thanks Chilly Coconut. That's very interesting that you feel it's the perfect 2 watch collection. If I went Sub I would likely go no date, as I love the pure tool-ness of it.

It would almost be like a 'Original Bond' collection with the Sub and Exp 1 (worn by Ian Fleming).

Yes I agree about the 114270, it is rather special to me .

I would go pair your 114270 with a 1957 60th Anny 38mm SPEEDMASTER.

I love this model. I tend to gravitate towards watches that are more water friendly though.

In my humble opinion, the Submariner with date looks the best on your wrist. Just my 2 cents, though.

The 14060 is a classic, clean dial, no cyclops to interfere with the look. I would chose that first over the rest.

Yes I agree. Lovely SD you have.

A 16600 may also be an option for me, although not sure about the thickness for my wrist.

Are they worth roughly the $2k premium over the Exp. 2?

question is do you NOT like the date function? I know some people don't want the date function at all. if that's the case go with the nd sub. if you don't mind the date get the sub date so you have one with a date.

I don't mind the date function at all! Especially on the Exp 2. I feel they are more common on the Subs though worn by non WIS. I also love the pure nature of the ND Sub. I would have to see which I maybe able to get a better deal with also.

Thanks lilokito, my favourite changes by the hour!
Even a newer model Sub pops into my mind sometimes with the glidelock and all. Just think I prefer the non maxi case

The Explorer II for the white dial and the date complication.
