The captioned watch is listed on the website for about $81K , it will be very interesting to see how soon it gets sold .

Certainly a harder watch to source than the 5980 right now and for the near term. Only needs one a** for the seat but yeah that's a high price haha

Think I will take the 5170P instead

thats what i dont get. anyone with 81k to spend on an aquanaut should not have any problems getting one at an AD as they should have a big collection already.

Its a dynamic price and will adjust down as people pay to be first, but still its weird.

I think you need that buyer with more money than knowledge of how the system works for starters. Then you need one who probably does not have the desire to buy multiple patek but just saw the new sports chrono on the orange strap and thought hey that would look cool next to my richard milles.

HQ Milton had one as well last week. I think it sold for 78k USD or something. Price was lowered by 2-3k after 1 week.

More than the 5170p in the same page.

But this euphoria is similar to the BLRO's. Both are new hot release from Patek/Rolex. There will be willing buyers at this phase.

Watchfinder has one for 62500 GBP (approx 81000 USD). I wonder how much they paid to the seller.

... and it’s gone. That’s nuts.

Edit: phew. still there. It seems people with this kind of money do have at least a double digit IQ.

I was extremely fortunate and got the first one, my AD won’t get another until next year now. They have many collectors who want one and they can’t satisfy them all. Even the biggest spenders have to wait for pieces, there simply aren’t enough to go round.
I guess some people have a lot of money and are happy to pay well over list for the latest “must have” watch.

The 81K is a lot for most of us but for some it is not. David is probably not too far off on what he will get for the watch. It is very nice.
