I really enjoyed this piece of knowledge from Padi-Peter. I think it would be great if you could make this a regular, say, Saturday segment, with snippets of information you have learned over the years. Thanks.

A wonderful piece to read on a lazy Saturday afternoon here in the USA.

The Rolex history is interesting - and how they had the “fits and starts” and mis-steps as well.

I learned a new thing - had not heard of a cushion oyster case before.

Thanks Peter and hope you’re having a nice Saturday evening.

I’ve never read that version of early Rolex history. Thanks for sharing it Peter.

Love posts like this. This is the reason I joined watch forums years ago to learn about watches and especially Rolex history.
Thanks Peter for taking the the time to post this. Learned something new

Nice write up. Thanks!
Much better read than "Incoming", "Is it safe", "Would you rather", etc.

I really enjoy hearing/reading about the Rolex story. Rolex's history is a great business and marketing study, but besides that, when you truly enjoy wearing the watches it's just fun to know. Thanks for writing this post, Peter.

Cheers Pete. People seem generally unaware that Rolex was selling in the Far East, India and elsewhere long before arriving in the USA

Great read! Is it true Rolex took full control of Aegler recently, I've read somewhere it was 2004?

Profesional application is still valued more than fashion or marketing. That’s why Rolex has firm roots holding up the family tree.
