Who will sell a SD50

Now there’s a confirmed mk2 dial.
I’m terrified to sell in case they drop the red text on the next dial,I think they will eventually, until then enjoy.

Very few MK1 dials made if you judge by the scarcity of supply; so a keeper for me for an extra reason, the other two being:
a. great fit and
b. one of the best aesthetically from the sports line up.

Are you unhappy with your watch that you think you want to sell it?

Really. If you like the watch then keep it, wear it and enjoy it. If you do not, then sell it and move on to something else you want. The MK1 and MK2 dial situation does not mean a thing now as both can readily be sourced and it will be a long time, if ever, that there is any true value there.

As a owner of a MK1 dial, I feel the difference between the two is next to nothing other than a WIS observation. When I was shopping for mine, I didn’t have the option as they are still hard to get regardless of the dial. Regardless, how I feel the watch collecting world is getting to be like stamp collectors so the market will dictate what’s important.
The grey market (trusted sellers) is noting the dial difference so apparently some feel it’s a factor.

What will make difference is if Rolex discontinues the watch or removes the red lettering, then collector value will skyrocket if that matters. Rolex is a expensive watch so the difference between $13k or $16k usd is not going to change it’s core buyer. I think the DSSD JC and the SD50th are sitting in a position of being a very desirable model regardless what the market does.

No need for anyone to explain. I see the differences now in another thread. Cheers.

I have Mk1 but that’s not stopping me from wearing - I’m keeping this one until I’m gone and it goes to my son, who is a saturation diver.

Whats the point of sticking it in the safe....I don’t honestly see the sd50 appreciating to a point where it was worth it vs enjoyment of use....watches are to be used imo ....BTW I didnt like my sd50 so sold it and dont miss it at all...

The first thing I do with a new watch, is take off all the stickers, put it on my wrist and enjoy it.

I love my SD43 (MK1) and wear it in rotation with my LVc.

At least you admit to keeping it purely on the basis of trying to make money on it. Thing that you need to ask yourself this $13k sitting in your watch box couldnt you invest it in other forms to make alot more than relying on speculation this will increase in value? And if it does what time frame will it double in value?

To make $13k in profit is it worth holding it for 10, 20 years? Food for thought.

Possibly. It is part of the fun of watch collecting! But only part of it. I might start wearing it. I might give it to my brother at some point. Who knows? Here in the UK, there is next to no point have money sat in a bank account at the moment. Some watches could prove good investments and I think stainless sport Rolex watches are not a bad bet at the moment.

Unless you have a loupe its very hard to see the font in 1220m looks like 1 instead of a single straight line, and you have the tiny Rolex emblem between the Swiss made, WOW and double WOW.
