ive always wanted a submariner since I was an early teen, hell, I still have the sub rep i bought in nyc c.1999 (and it runs!). My wife and I are expecting b/g twins in march and my bday is coming up so i decided to go for it. Stopped by a couple of ADs and built a relationship. I had my heart set on the subdate going in but after trying on the sd43, it was a no brainer. Im a little larger/taller and it just suited my proportions than the subdate so I went for it. Put my name on the list at 2 ads. One got back to me in a month and the other in 5 days, but they both contacted me on the same day! Very excited and ive been wearing it every day since! I got hodinkee insurance just for a little extra piece of mind since im in california

I cant link photos just yet but just imagine a 126600 wrist shot inside a tesla

Congrats! Just got mine and love it. I don’t doubt that for some it is uncomfortable, but to me it wears like a dream.

I have had my sd43 for a week and I absolutely in love. The perfect Rolex professional watch for me which I am sure will outlast me by a century or two. I also rather controversially added a rubber b strap (sorry) and love that too!

PS my wrist is 7.1” and am wearing 5/7 links on the oyster bracelet/rubberb equivalent with glide lock.

Congratulations on your recent purchase.

I too just picked up a SD43 126600.
It fits my 8in wrist quite well. The GMT and Sub just were too small for me.

Now the SD43 and my Tudor Pelagos 42mm will share wrist time.

To help with Desk scratches I installed a set of WatchShells on the SD43's bracelet.

Congrats. Love the MK1 and it’s my #1 Rolex, next to my #1A JC Deepsea.

Do you also find your crystal always dirty ?
It feels like the thickness of it or maybe the dial underneath makes any dust or smudge on the crystal very visible and annoying.

It'll be my first new Rolex in 52 years - the first was a Submariner 5512, bought by my folks when I joined the Navy in 1966. It was $190.00 BNIB at the AD. No wait list, either.

Had a great AD experience last Tuesday, even though I'd never bought anything there before. The Rolex Rep was in the store, and I spent about 45 minutes with him and a fantastic sales person. The rep was confident I'd have my SD43 before April Fools day.

They had a SD43, previously ordered by another customer, so at least I got to see one in the flesh, and briefly on my wrist. A magnificent timepiece, for sure.

The 5512? It's running happily and accurately on my wrist, as I type this post. Last serviced at RSC Dallas in '06, it's sorta like George Washington's axe at the Smithsonian. Three new heads and seven new handles, but still GW's axe. In truth, the 5512's case, case back, bezel and movement are the only remaining original components - but it's still my 5512.

So the next few weeks'll be a tough wait. Maybe Springer's will call tomorrow! Nah, more likely Saturday. Or maybe next Wednesday.
Years late in responding, but I hope the watch has been everything you hoped for. Congrats on it!
