After OP39... GMT, Sub, SD?
Dear friends! Wearing OP39 Black as daily driver for about 2 years now (my previous model was DJ36 SS White), but want to change my watch on something new. I am wearing suits 95% of my time. Thinking about something too classical like Cartier, JLC... But I realize, that my next watch must be also Rolex watch. I like professional models. Maybe GMT, Sub, SD? Or not for the suit and impossible to buy because of the waiting list? And my only next variant - DJ41? Many thanks!

You can not go wrong with a Submariner or a GMT.

After OP39... GMT, Sub, SD?
Quote:
I would recommend the GMT over the Sub because the jubilee makes it a dressy piece more suitable for a suit. If you look at the Rolex website and marketing materials it is positioned as the “Cosmopolitan” watch. I would also add that the BLNR would be the better choice because the Blu / Noir bezel is more adaptable from suit to bathing suit ... the Blu / Rouge bezel is more “sporty” and does not work as well as the BLNR in more formal attire. The B LNR is the more “Cosmopolitan” between the two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

GMT if possible but I wouldn’t hesitate to ‘settle’ for a sub. Likely you’ll end up with all the above. So kind of just a sequence thing.

Anybody's a good choice but the SD for me. The current Sea Dweller does not have the essence of the historical Sea Dweller design. It's something they pulled out of their sleeves to sell, at the cost of selling their soul to the devil. The last Sea Dweller was 116600, the current one has the same name, but it's not an SD.

Find a pre-loved GMT LN. That way you have a ‘suit’able GMT that looks like a sub.
Goes with anything and is a tough watch. Only watch you’ll ever need. |

I can't believe the black dial OP39 has been out 2 years already. Great watch by the way
You can't go wrong with a Sub or a GMT for a second watch. I would say buy whichever one you can find at an AD brand new. |

BLRO GMT...classy and sporty like it was built for in 1982. Throw that bad boy on your wrist with a suit and you’ve got yourself the charm of the original references with modern day upgrades and a svelte bracelet.
