WTF: $3200 for Khaki Green Aquanaut straps?!?

This price is beyond ridiculous...

Apparently I didn't search long enough. A clear sign there is a lack of common sense in the world...

Good point. I guess if it was "open" packaging it would be closer to $20. In all seriousness, sellers should get what they can get...there is nothing wrong with that. I just think asking that much for a few straps of rubber is outside the realm of reality.

And I'm not actually wanting the green straps for my watch...I just wanted to get ideas on possible color options.

Yeah this one has been on for a while. Actually someone with more money than brains hasn't picked it up yet. Insane but surely someone will pay it eventually. When/if I ever get my 5167R, I'll likely put on an aftermarket one, green looks really nice on the RG.

More artificial scarcity. $20 is about right. Stamp PP on it and the sky is the limit.

I paid $4K a year or two back and 100% thrilled with my choice.

its all about supply and demand - Im sure some of the aftermarket ones look ok but will never be as good as OEM.

Its like everything - who would ever think Tiffany 5167/1A's would sell for $100k

I don't think the current price which is now unto $3,550 is unrealistic -I think it could go for a lot more

Rubber B are set to produce straps for the 5167s. Would be buyers should save their $3k, and get the B when it comes out. I'm sure there'll be green, orange, etc.

The advertisement on their page has been there for a year. Not sure if they are ever going to get around to making them.

I’ve seen a couple of used straps go for around $3500 on eBay recently. New uncut straps seem to come up for sale less often than a Tiffany dialed 5167a!

Shipping is $100. With that shipping price, strap should have been FREE!!

I believe that Rubber B make the OEM rubber straps for the various aquanaut models but I assume the design is owned by Patek hence why Rubber B will probably have to sell an alternative design as an aftermarket product.

The result of money having little value. No worries, a few keystrokes on a computer and trillions more from Central Banks are available.

And maybe thats what's taking so long! I had no idea that the Rubber B note had been up for a year!

And it will all end up in the hands of the same small group of people, putting more pressure on them to spend it on luxury goods and 10 bedroom houses. Buying these straps is actually a good investment, after all, even a worldwide plague and economic shutdown doesn't seem to have hurt the price.

Is this true? Does Rubber B make rubber straps for Patek? Any source?

Does anyone know if Rubber B straps have an inner metal core that wraps around the spring bar like the Rolex oyster flex bracelet?

That is what people keep saying but there has never been any evidence of that. Also the aquanaut exists for a whole lot longer than Rubber b does, and they would have to make a seriously strong case to make patek change to them vs their then current supplier.
I'm a sceptic.

It has been stalled at right around $3500 with almost 50 people watching. This is going to go down to the last few seconds of the auction and will probably jump up a few grand.

Aftermarket straps is where it's at.

The only reason these go for insane money is because Aquanauts go for insane money.

It's just insane.

Insane.

10 minutes to go in the auction, sitting at $3600. We will see where this one goes.

The market has spoken.

Sold for $4250. It sat at $3750 until the last few seconds. Only 2 bidders fighting for it in the end. 7 bidders total and over 50 people watching.
