$300 is low. After hanging around watching prices for a few years, it's $500 minimum - and even more at retail.

I’m impressed Crown and Caliber gave you some options.

But they weren't good options. Cancellation is ok, but he already has that option. Dropping the price $100 is an insulting option. That would just increase their spread over the value of the watch. To make up for their error, they should be offering a better deal, not trying to pull off an inferior deal.

OP, I suggest you cancel this order. They're not dealing with this situation in a fair manner.

I have had good experiences with them. I looked into trading a watch with them and I didn't have papers. They told me, in writing, that papers are worth 100 dollars (buy or sell) to them on all Rolexes. I would try to get 300 but, honestly, if you are going to keep this thing forever (or at least you plan to) then I wouldn't sweat it that much. My keeper of all keepers, my 114060, didn't come with anything other than the watch. I don't really care because it's not going anywhere. Enjoy the watch.

Well F serials ran from around September 2003 well into 2005.

OP was asking for $300, if C&C agree then is good for both sides. I don't like to make OP feels that he is losing something on this purchase.

I think he got the box without paper, $300 sound reasonable to me for the watch cost less than $5000.

This. B&P are worth something for high dollar collectible vintage, but a run of the mill common DJ?

Work the price down and get the watch. Life is too short LOL

If you are going to wear the watch forever then I would not worry about it. If you are going to sell it down the road then it would be important to have papers. I think $300 or $400 off would be a nice discount on that watch and put it at a nice pricepoint for you.

For me, no papers & box = no sale. You should also set some money aside and have it authenticated by somebody who knows about these watches (remove the back cover). Otherwise you will be in a world of pain the day you try to sell it only to find out it's not.

C&C is ok, but they really struggle with the box and papers / listing accuracy stuff.

They are nice to deal with, but they have some blocking and tackling issues up front that they need to sort out a bit.

They do alotta volume, so I guess it happens.

I decided to take the watch + $100 refund. I do really like this watch and since serial # is around 2003-2005 makes me feel better since the papers were supposed to be dated 2001. Thank you for all your help everyone !

Good on the first part but the second part has me confused. So you're saying the papers were fake anyway? Maybe I missed an earlier comment…sorry if that's the case.

According to the original listing it said the papers were dates 6/11/2001. But they were unable to find the papers. Most likely the watch was mislabeled on the site originally i feel. Since watch serial # shows between 2003-2005 thats even better for me since i got $100 back for no papers.

Get the discount. And I'm sure they will pop up and you'll eventually get the papers.

As a relative novice buyer who has bought twice (new) from an AD and twice (pre-owned from resellers with boxes and all papers) I would be mightily pi$$ed with your seller. Even if you have no plans to re-sell, being able to do so if you change you mind years from now "with B&P" is - no matter what anyone here says - a huge advantage, that would take more than a few hundred$ to overcome - for me. I get the "buy the seller" thinking, but how about "buy the seller with the supporting docs"..........specially if its not a scarce item.

It's a reputable seller but not having the full set hurts resale value. Not a big deal if you like the watch and want to keep it forever.

Having a watch without paper is quite subjective to owners. I agreed that paper is important but not necessary.

But of course, In my opinion, having everything is the best
