Rolex GMT Master ll 116710 BLNR “Batman” on sub bracelet :)

Managed to source a new brushed steel submariner bracelet (w/glidelock clasp) for my “Batman”. Super happy with the outcome, feels like a new watch.

Looks great! Is that the 9700 sub bracelet? Where did you source it from?

It is indeed. I posted on my local forum (In Toronto, Canada) and someone responded within 5 minutes. I made a deal an hour later for it. Was super surprised. Brand new unworn, he had it in a safe for the past year with Rolex tags, stickers, etc. still attached to the box it came in.

Great! It was meant to be. I always liked that glide lock clasp with the GMT

I had traded my 114060 sub plus cash for it, and instantly missed that brushed steel and glidelock clasp/buckle look/feel. Have the best of both worlds now IMO. Definitely still miss my Sub, but I'll acquire another down the line.

Did you use the GMT spring bars? I’m trying to do the same, but only one end of the spring bar “clicks” into place; there’s no play and seems secure, but it looks like one side of the spring bar isn’t fully engaged into the hole of that makes sense.

Yeah, I used the gmt spring bars. I didn’t do it myself, I had the guy whom I bought it from install it for me. It’s very secure and I don’t seem to have any issues. I’d probably take it off and redo it maybe?

Very nice combination! My recommendation would be to keep the original bracelet just in case you decide to sell in the future.

I had this exact problem when I tried to use the original BLNR springbars; it was close, but just would not click. Problem is solved by using a springbar with a body diameter of 1.8 mm (the OEM BLNR springbars have a body diameter of 2.0 mm). With the thinner springbars there is enough play for the ends to fully engage the lugholes, and "click" in. Of course, I'm talking about the oyster BLNR, I have no idea what the springbar/lughole setup of the jubilee BLNR is!

Also I notice some above referring to the Sub Glidelock bracelet as 9700. I'm sure it's just a typo, the reference number is actually 97200, and it looks awesome on the BLNR!

That's an awesome mod. I also much prefer the glide lock clasp on the sub, than the micro adjustment on the BLRO clasp.

I was actually wondering whether it's possible to just change the clasp my BLRO jubilee to the glidelock clasp from the SubC.

Anyone try that before? Would be interesting to know.

Looks great OP .

Lol! Thanks OP. I'm not gonna lie, took me a while to understand how to read this table but it makes sense.

Very useful coz using the correct fitting spring bars is critical.

I was actually thinking of just changing just the clasp to glidelock whilst keeping the original jubilee bracelet...could look a bit wierd I know. But just just wondering if another TRF member has managed to pull this off.
