Sounds like you love your Sub.
I wouldn't buy another watch just because you have the $$.
Otherwise, there are so many options out there. GMT comes to mind.

A Datejust 126344 is a good option too or a Seamaster though cheaper than 9k.

Assuming your sub is black.... I'd go with a Pepsi GMT... You end up with some color, a different bracelet in Jubilee, some added functionality- but you don't have a drastic departure in size and form...

Second choice is a DJ41 or DJ2- in blue, fluted bezel.

I wouldn't be too hasty to part with your money yet. You apparently don't know what to buy with it, so anyone's advice is unlikely to answer the basic questions you haven't got to yet. What do you like? What appeals to you?

If you can walk past scores of watches without feeling the urge to put your hand in your pocket, keeping walking. Your dream watch still awaits you. You will know it when you see it. And it will know you.

I’d get a gmt . Retail not overpriced grey .
It’s within your budget over $10 with tax included.
With the hysteria going on right now
you might have better chances of getting
one from an AD at retail...

I’d shoot for an AD in a state or county that
has tighter lockdown regulations in place .
The AD might be more willing to offload
desirable pieces to first time buyers just to
move the watch. You never know !

Sub and GMT = Perfect Combo/Pair .

+ 1 for GMT Pepsi, you can buy the GMT instead of GMT II for $10k range.

Alternatively you can look at the Yachtmaster as well.

I was in a similar situation to you OP, where I had my TT sub that I love and had budgeted 8-10k to spend on another watch. I was going to go for the classic ND Sub, but looked into Tudor and Omega and found two models separately that I liked more, Tudor BB Blue ETA and Omega PO 8500 42mm. I couldn't be happier with my decision, as I love both these and now all three are in a regular rotation and it's a toss up on which I like most at this point.

I would definitely explore some other brands, do a ton of research and see what else is out there.

This is the correct answer. Explorer 2 - Polar. 40mm or 42mm - doesn't matter. Perfect watch to compliment the black diver.

www.rolex.com will allow the original poster to look at the lines in his price point; Air King, Oyster Perpetual, Datejust, Milgaus, Explorers and some just outside of his price point, GMT to see what he likes. It’s the best watch website for configuring dials/bands.

Almost all within his price point except for GMT are not “unobtainium”. The only real unobtanium are Sub, which he doesn’t want and GMT which is just outside his budget.

I respectfully disagree with the E2 polar suggestions. I’d go with a DJ with a dressier dial as something different than the Sub.

So, www.rolex.com is the best means to see he watches in various configurations with their prices listed. Then finding an AD or a “reputable seller” (rolling eyes) is the fun part of the hunt.

These threads baffle me. I would never spend my money on something just because someone recommends it to me. If there is a watch that you like within your budget then buy it. If not, don't buy another watch. Nobody knows what you want better than you...

Like a few people here, once you get bitten by the Rolex bug you start thinking about what your next Rolex could be. With that being said I have 9k for a new watch. So I am looking for another watch to compliment my Sub. I do not want a dress watch, as I do not do many formal occasions that require a dress watch. So what suggestions do you have for my second watch? The watch doesn't have to be exactly 9k, then again it doesn't have to be another Rolex. The new watch can be less costly and or it could be a bit over 9k, as I can put another $1 or $2k with the $9k. I appreciate everyone's input...and stay safe
I´d say hang on to your cash for the moment! Like you, I wear a Sub (14060), and it rarely leaves my wrist too! At the moment I just can´t think of another watch to compliment it, it suits me so well! A Rolex Sub is just so hard to beat, imho!

Omega has been putting out some really good stuff. Speedmaster Pro is a classic if that's your type. The Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon is right at your range as well and a really great & unique looking dial.

If another dive watch is your desire, take a look at the Seamaster 300M with the Co-Axial 8800 movement (best movement in it's price range and as good as any Rolex movement). It comes in 4 different dial colors (black, blue, grey, white) and with a choice of SS or rubber straps. If you buy a SS version the rubber strap can be purchased separately for a couple of hundred $$$.
