Silly endlink question

Just got an oyster 78360 bracelet for my 70's 1675 GMT.
I know the endlinks should be 580 but got the 558 with the bracelet

Shouldn't the old lugpins (standard 2mm 20mm sub pins) fit the 558? Can't even squeze them trough the endlinks. 558 is I'm assuming for a datejust then? I've seen a few 1675 posted with 78360/558, how do they do it?

My question is then, should the 558 endlinks fit sub lugpins or not (should I squeeze even more)?
