Question on Rolex Daytona Types

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a pre owned Daytona and have seen models 116503 and 116523. Both Steel and Yellow Gold. Both 2016 models, both the same price.

Can anyone tell me the difference? Any thoughts which will hold the value better?

Thanks in advance

I think the 116503 is the newer version of the 116523. Slight change in bezel design I think. I would get the 116503 myself but I don't think any would hold its value better.

I just got the same question answered at the boutique in Houston bc I'm interested in the TT white dial. So, the bezel markers/numbers are slightly different, and I mean slightly! Same color and size though.....

I just found this out on a question I had posted. The bezel on the 523 has dots whereas the bezel on the 503 has triangles.

It *completely* changes the look of the watch. lol

Afraid in general no TT watch will hold the same value in proportion to price paid as the same model in SS.And both the same except for purely slight bezel cosmetic changes the movement is basically the same as the one introduced in 2000.

This was brought up here and at other watch forums.
116503 is the 2016 of 116523, difference in the new bezel 'racing bezel'.
If prices are the same I don't see the reason of buying the out going model 116523, where the general consensus is that the racing bezel is sportier and better match to the watch.

Thanks

Thanks everyone, that's really useful. I shall try to track down a decent pre owned one of the newer design I think.

Hi this is my first post. I've recently purchased a new 116503 black dial with baton markers. I'm very happy with it and I think pictures don't do it justice.

I have a question in regards to the bezel. How are the numbers applied? Secondly will they fade like the 116523?

Looking forward to your replies. Thank you in advance.
