Hey Guys!
My first post here and I'll get straight to it. I've made the decision and going to pull the trigger on my first Rolex!! I've been eyeing the Rolex Sea Dweller Deep Sea James Cameron edition for a while now! A couple of questions if any of you can answer for me: This is a limited edition watch correct?, If so why is it still in production since it was released in 2014? Don't limited edition models only get produced in certain quantities or a single year? Cost - I'm in Canada and I've been seeing them for about $17,000 CAD. Do these watches go up in value every year? or hold its value? How do I tell the difference whether it the piece is made in 2014/2015/2016? Forgive me if I'm asking questions that could have been easily answered by browsing.. Still kinda new to the whole Rolex scene.. Thanks! |

It is not a limited edition. It is scarce and harder to find than the black DSSD but it is a "production line" model. Like with the BLNR, LV and Daytona it is merely harder to find.

Didn't think I'd love and enjoy the D-Blue any more than I already do.. But, with summer, being outdoors, around the ocean, it is just stunning to wear and look at.. It works for me, during the day in a swimsuit or at night dressed up heading out to a fine restaurant. It's a perfect, versatile piece, for me..
Oh, and one more thing: I am a huge strap guy. Always had them on my watches. Just prefer them, less flashy. Truth be told, I love the bracelet on the Deep Sea. I love the look in sunlight, clean, etc. Even though I think they are beautiful, I have yet to put a RubberB or Everest strap on it. Not sure when I will as I am enjoying the overall look of this piece even more so in summer.. |

Anyone with a genuine d-blue could you give me the weight of your d-blue on kitchen scales? Advise how many links you removed. Im thinking of buying this one and everything looks legit but its not from an AD.

the BLNR and LV much more easily obtainable than the DSSD blue the daytona-c although a full production model....rolex is releasing slowly..... the BLNR is a full production model the 116610LV seems to be full production but could stop at anytime the DSSD blue i fully expect to be discontinued in the next 2 years tops.....and most ads maybe get 1-3 a year |

I've just joined the club, what's people's thoughts on future price of the 116660, I know it's currently selling above list, do you think it's likely to maintain this?

I think it looks great, wonderful photography although you know it's been photoshopped to death.
I wouldn't buy it for myself, but I surely do see the appeal.

Deciding between the DeepSea and the Deep Blue. With such a thick crystal hard to notice 1/2 blue dial/lettering unless viewed in day light or studied. Pre-owned price differential is a whopping $4K!

Hi All - just got mine before yesterday in Basel .... It's indeed a stunning watch.
I don't know why many people think its heavy. I have the GMT ii Bartman and of course, there is certain a difference but the Deepsea Blue is very comfortable even when I wear it all day. I love both watches and I think both rank top in Rolex catalog. Cheers, Rodrigo |

Question please - Would an AD (in UK) order or obtain one of these for you, or just a case of trying to source one?
