Are all Submariner 116610 the same?

Is there any variance between a 2012 Submariner and say a 2018 model? Looking at a pre owned Black sub but want the newest version.

Thank's

Yes if you undo the clasp the older models have a sandblasted look and the newer ones, I believe 2016 and newer are polished on the inside

The inner clasp on the 2012 will have a sandblasted finish versus the completely polished finish on the 2018 model. Not something you'll see when wearing the watch, though.

There are many tiny dial print variations over the years, too, but those aren't necessarily consistent from year to year. One isn't necessarily "newer" than the other. They are so minor that even crazy Rolex collectors on here don't really care which one they have.

But otherwise the watches are the same.

Cool thanks, I only ask because different resellers have it listed as 116610 and others 116610 LN

The model number for the ceramic black submariner is always 116610LN

There are cosmetic variances throughout the line, even between 2 examples from the same year. There are no model year "versions".

Functionally, and visually, you cannot tell the difference between a 2012 and 2018 without difficulty.
