What colour dial for DJ41

Fellow forum members
After some considerable recent deliberation (and trading over the years) I have concluded I need 1 watch right now and have whittled this down to a DJ41 with fluted bezel and preference (a) jubilee and (b) oyster
I have only one dilemma - silver or black dial?
Ultimately I need to take accountability for such a monumental choice but hey why not reach out to the forum for some opinions!!
I should add the only negative/reservation about the black dial is the shimmer effect - interested how other black dial owners feel about this
Cheers everyone!

silver with jubilee if sticks. i have the black dial but that's because i went with diamonds and wanted the contrast. i have no regrets though, i love the slight sunburst it has when under light

If I were given the two options, I would probably vote silver.

I ordered silver dial, fluted bazel on jubilee (still waiting). Love the sunburst effect! I was considering rhodium but found it to be of a poor legibility. I also considered black but it looked a bit too simple with sticks - black with diamonds is another matter entirely, I agree with huncho.

Of those 2 options, Silver. Though, I was a HUGE fan of the Rhodium dial in person. Would look amazing with a fluted bezel (not sold on the Jubilee, though)

I have had Rhodium (told you I have done a bit of trading!!) - I agree the legibility wasn’t as crisp as I had imagined and as many have said if it doesn’t sing to you!!
This is such an amazing forum community - reach out and people always willing to share

Blue! It’s the most popular for a reason!

In pictures black wasn’t even really on my radar. In person it was no contest for me.

Not jubilee or fluted but at least you can check out the dial.

I was on the hunt for a blue dial but had a sudden change of heart, and chose the black dial. No regrets, black dial and the stainless just work together.

How bad is the legibility wrt to rhodium?

Just wondering as I am looking into a dj41 and rhodium would have been my preferred dial.

Cheers

Silver Dial (should go for the blue though) and Oyster

Unpopular Opinion:
I find that the 41mm Datejust looks better on the Oyster Bracelet than on the jubilee (36mm is better with a jubilee though). I happened to pick mine up with the smooth bezel. It gets more compliments than my sub when i wear it, even though i chose my dj in the configuration i did to "fly under the radar". If you are thinking about getting the black dial, consider getting the blue dial. Depending on the lighting it can look black or brilliant blue. I also find that the smooth bezel and oyster bracelet configuration looks very integrated as no part of the watch appears rippled. It is for that reason that id recommend getting the Fluted bezel with the Jubilee and the smooth with the Oyster bracelet.

I like the silver over the black. Very classy with a nice pop to it. Black is nice but doesn’t stand out IMO as much as the silver dial. Gorgeous watch.

I'm also eyeing the DJ41 oyster + dark rhodium...how poor was the legibility? Is this a real concern?

With lack of availability in the AD these days it's hard to see one in person beforehand.
