But not Rolex. My father gave me his yellow gold 1961 time only in 1968(ish) when my sister and I gave him a Bulova Accutron for his birthday. I wore that through high school, college and grad school. Had it refurbished and now our daughter wears it (but not daily). We gave our son a new SS 2004 Datejust for high school graduation in 2004 - still his daily.

Only current Rolex is an EII in polar white that I wear when hunting, fishing or working on our hobby farm (the NO GUNS OR KNIVES here was quite a shock; I grew up hunting and fishing, all the dads on the street were WWII vets and EVERYBODY had plenty of both, but when in Rome...).

For work or going out, I greatly prefer my PP 5146 in white gold/dark dial and it gets 90% of my wrist time. I love everything about it (AC, Moonphase, power reserve, lume, etc). Will never sell since I have a son and grandson to pass on to.

My only other "good" watch is a Nautilus AC in SS (dark dial) on a SS bracelet. I hardly ever wear it because if the conditions are "sporty", I wear the Explorer and if it's going to be "nice", I wear the 5146. I make myself take it off the winder and put it on at least once a month, but it just can't compare to the 5146 in my mind.

My other interests other than family are bowhunting whitetail deer (mainly) and Porsches.

Bowhunting is a strong #1 (over cars and watches).
