Omega are great watches. My Seamaster PO was a joy for 5 years then I bought a Seadweller..... You know the rest so I flipped it. Very tempted with a Speedy to soothe the guilt.

A 3510.50 is on my list, probably my next watch. An instant classic.....For me I would not look at any of the other references.

No more legible chrono than the Speedy! It's THE chrono dial IMO. And none with a better history. Congrats!

Great watch. What will be blasphemous around here is when you say you are disappointed when you get your Daytona. My manual wind Speedy is probably #1 on my list of keepers.

Speedy is a great choice indeed! After all it's been to the moon and back. I'm sure you'll be just fine until your DaytonaC arrives. Wear it in good health. Cheers!

Haha, I just watched it on Netflix (It re-appeared a week ago). And it was high on my list after getting my Speedmaster Pro. I also love it as much as my Explorer 214270.

Enjoy that Speedmaster and get some new straps cause it is so easy to change.

I do think the big box is cool, but I live in San Francisco where storage is a premium. I wish I could get rid of it.

CONGRATULATIONS ON AN AMAZING WATCH

DavidSW has for about $3850 'ish. For the Hesalite model
Omega Boutique will give you free Nato strap(s) but I'm not sure about a discount.

Looks great. I’d like a speedy in some configuration at some point.

I'm also very fond of the Mark II case, but I don't know what Tonneau case is.

What I like about the case is it brings me back to the style of the 1970's when I discovered watches.

But what does Tonneau mean?

Well played! Looks great. Nothing wrong with mixing in some other brands. Speedy Pro stands on it's own.

I think the SeaDweller and Speedy make a perfect pair considering the hostile yet opposite environments they are designed for. Go get that speedy!

Congrats on the Speedy. Plenty of room in collection for both a Speedy and a DaytonaC. I wear my Speedy on an OEM croc strap to give it a dressier vibe than my Daytona.

Agreed on both counts. I long ago came to the conclusion Rolex only cares that one buys a Daytona, not whether one can actually tell what the time is using it. "Contrast", "Reflection", and other concepts pertaining to legibility apparently don't appear in the Daytona-designer's manual. I have perfect vision, but if aircraft instruments and displays had been designed by the modern Rolex Daytona design team I'd be dead, crashed long ago due to illegible information. At the other end of the legibility spectrum, the Speedy rules supreme. The Daytona long ago became nothing more than a fashion statement. A Speedy Pro remains all business.

Stands on it's own for sure and at the head of the chrono crowd, my Daytonas past and present take a back seat. Here's two of my frequently-worn ones mixed in with a piece of Rolex fashion jewelry that might see the light of day once every few months.

Great watch, I love Omegas. My Planet Ocean 2500 is durable, accurate and a beauty to look at and wear. You’re right, it’s good to mix up brands now and then, enjoy!!

OMG! I'm going to admit some ignorance here but how has this watch been off my radar for my entire watch-centric life? Manual wind, good size, three registers...must have.
I had three Daytonas from 2000-2008, a white 16520, white 116520, then black 116520. I moved on to other things, then in 2011 bought an Omega Planet Ocean three register chrono on Sharkpruf bracelet which I really loved, kind of a beefier Daytona. Sold it for another PAM three years later.
Just got my 9th Rolex, a BLNR a couple months ago after a seven year absence. I'd love to try a Daytona C but I no longer have the connections I did, nor the patience/stamina to try getting one. The Speedy might just do the trick. Thanks RolexLuthor for turning me onto something I should have known about for years.
And congrats on a great pick.

Get down an AD and try one on ASAP as you could be missing out on an immensely enjoyable watch to fill your Rolex rotation gaps!

Do yourself a favor and take an online journey of the Speedmaster Pro. It's got such a fun history, and so few changes since 1968. It really is true to itself, pure in it's loyalty to it's design. There are so many versions, but the Professional with Hesalite could be taken off your wrist an given to an astronaut and is qualified to perform EVA (Extra Vehicular Activity). An automatic would not perform in space. And you certainly don't want sapphire in zero gravity! It's got an amazing presentation box and true historical significance. Get the model with the bracelet and then get a few leather straps in Black and Brown. It looks fantastic in a Rally Strap. All that and a brilliant, comfortable design.

The style case which the Mark II has. See the end of the Wikipedia article or look for examples of Tonneau cased watches.

Yeah wearing Modern Rolex metal bracelets does rather put to shame a lot of other brands bracelets so I went for leather strap as I knew it wouldn’t compare to the beauty of the glide lock!

Got it. thanks. I tried to google it, but didn't come up with anything other than the cargo cover (which I once installed on an old Ford pickup).

I tried on the Mark II last week and really loved the case.

Congrats. Enjoy it! I wear it more often that some of the other watches I own, and I've grown to love it more than most of the others. I actually like the Speedy bracelet alot. Not as comfortable as the Oyster on my Sub or Exp, but satisfying in its own way. You can always grab one and they aren't crazy expensive. I swap mine for a light brown 20mm Omega leather all the time. They are easy to change without marking up the back of the lugs.
