Ok now I know the full history of the phrase “arguing over semantics” and how it was evolved to mean different things over half a century.

What I mean is towards the end of that babble. The point you are arguing does not really matter as everyone here knows the OP doesn’t have a green aquanaut or this conversation wouldn’t be happening!

In other words, the green strap is discontinued for everyone except the very few who happen to own the green aqua.

Has anyone seen some of the recent asking prices for the green strap?

In short - they've reached a comical level. I thought $800-$1,000 for one a few months ago was ridiculous. Recently, one on the 'Bay sold for $2,600 even though it was used and cut. Others I've seen sell for $2,000.

Whoever has a green Aquanaut out there basically has a license to print money right now!

I have the green on my 5167. It actually matches the lume and thus coordinates very well. I prefer the green to the black and will probably leave it on the watch. I think I may have gotten the last green from HS. Talk about weird timing and blind luck.

Try the brown strap as well. The dial on the aquanaut looks greyish brown at times and the brown one really highlights this.

Wow. Last time I checked the market for one they were about $900, but this was quite sometime ago. Happy I got mine when I did, had no idea they were trading north of $2,000!!!

yep. Same goes for blue straps/orange straps. You need the watch its for in theory. Some AD's have gotten blue straps for people though, but im pretty sure they didn't tell patek it was for a 5164 when they ordered it.

i doubt they would sell them in bulk to somone even if they had the correct watch for it. Who knows, they might want the old strap back.
