Submariner 16613 will not wind

I purchased my submariner new in 2005 and today is the first time I have had a problem. I tried to wind it and immediately noticed that it felt different when winding, like it was not really engaging. I placed the watch on my arm thinking the arm movement would start the watch, but it has not.
I only wear the watch in the evenings and weekends and always have to wind and set the date/time manually. The watch has never been serviced.

Any suggestions? I am new to this forum as of this morning.

Thank you in advance

The wig wag is stuck probably because of lack of lubrication, when you try to wind give it a quick spin to try to get it to engage. Service is definately recommended. Rikki

Actually I had the same problem with my Gmt 2 (the crown not engaging) but rolex technician said it's nothing wrong, give it a quick spin and it will work! And it did! But it allways winds OK when moving.

While it is true that there is likely nothing physically wrong with the mechanism, this is a symptom..

The actual problem is, likely, lack of lubrication. Lack of lubrication means metal-to-metal cotact and, therefore, excessive wear and tear. Get it cleaned and re-oiled..
