Condition of hands after service.
I had my Datejust serviced by Rolex UK in August 2011. I've just started to notice that the hands have appeared to become tarnished and it's quite visable in certain light. It's difficult to photograph but I've had a go!
I'm not sure if the tarnishing has recently got worse if that's possible or if the hands where in this condition straight after the service (they weren't before). It's been serviced by Rolex twice and untouched by anyone else. Is it usual for hands to be marked after a service? The hour and minute hands are dulled to about half way to the lume. Thanks. |

Plexi or sapphire?
If plexi, then it would be a new glass, no scratches, marks etc.. and it would give you a better view than you have had for years. Those stains are consistant with a set of original hands on a classic Rolex of 20/30 years old. The RSC would refit original hands unless they are badly scratched, especially on a tritium dial like yours. |
